Quote (macdaddy @ June 11 2002, 3:59) | make it so the guys in the columbia level can't see you when your hiding behind the grass. Better jungle multiplayer maps too ( with lots of tall grass and wide open jungle ) |
Freakin DITTO! I'm glad I'm not the only one who is annoyed by the fact that the "jungle" grass has absolutely no effect on the AI's ability to spot you and shoot you! It does, however, prevent you from seeing anything. So much for covert ops! This works great for multiplayer, it should work on the AI in single player as well.
Also, the "random mission generator" should be renamed to "random terrain generator,", as it absolutely does not randomize the objectives, weapons, buildings, enemies, etc. Of course I would prefer if they would actually fix it so that it does randomize these things.
Also, I was kind of disappointed by the lack of throwable C4 packs.

Quote (mechanodroid @ June 12 2002, 11:51) | Currently in most "tall grass" areas you can go "prone" in the grass and have a decrease in the amount of NPC firing, etc.. This has been reported to be true by several regulars in other threads and on other boards.
It is true that in the current release being "crouch" in "tall grass" does nothing to conceal. Originally this was on purpose: just because you are crouching in a grassy area in real life doesn't mean you can't be seen. However, by popular demand you will now be able to crouch in "tall grass" and see a noticeable benefit. This change is in the upcomming patch. |
I'm glad it is being fixed. It will add much to gameplay.
I tried the prone stance in the Columbian jungle level and was able to crawl for quite a while without being seen, until I hit the helicoptor event trigger, then all #### broke loose. But why can you not fire your weapon when prone?
Some other minor things I have noted:
- Lasing corpses with the OICW (or whatever it is called) makes them twitch.
- The building with the radio in an escape RMG mission was competely whacked - there was no way in: there were walls where a door should have been, and there were internal doors that spanned a wall intersection, etc. See html link for screenshots of this: Funky Building Screenshots |

I haven't been playing very long, but from what I've seen so far the word impressed comes to mind. But why, why, why didn't raven allow you to shot from the prone posision ? I think this has to be a must for the first patch. Also there doesn't seem to be any accuracy differance between standing and croughing, especilly with the sniper, may I just ask why ?? Apart from that and a few clipping issues theres not much else I can say at this point. |
