I am a huge user of modsonline.com. I waned to know what program is used to record the video tutorials so that I can show my clan various things. Also, how do you get a dds file? I cant make one.

Not sure about the video,but dds files can be made with photoshop or paint shop pro.There is a tutorial for dds files,which is called Importing custom textures.Hope that helps!

Well aslong as you are showing them things in-game, (I assume you are because of where you posted), you can just type /record [filename] which will start recording what you do. Then to stop you just type /stoprecord.

So for example, if I want to record a demo called huge_jump, I would go onto the map, then type:

/record huge_jump

This will start the recording. Now to stop you just type /stoprecord.

Then you can just give the demo file to our friends, they put it in the main/demo/ folder (I think?) and they just need to type:

/demo huge_jump

and it will load up. They need to be on the main screen to do this.

i use camtasia for screen capture

camtasia or fraps.

i personally like camtasia better.

personaly i dont use dds files to create my pic for my maps .... i simply use jpg pic ...

All three of those programs mentioned above have free 30 day trials of the full programl. If nothing else it is a fun thing to mess with when you need a break from mapping.
