Hi there
i am trying to make my first map for cs:go using hammer
it was all going well tell i started to add props, now i have added lights in normal setting as there a bug in cs:go hammer maps with lighting and i have added a cubemap to the map, but when i compile the map and play it all my props are black,
i have tried making the light brighter up to 500 and they are still black props, so i looked at the props setting and tried move some of these but still black props. any body got any ideas.

Do you have a light_environment entity placed somewhere in the map?

nah light_environment is only for open worlds, not a rooms as it imatate the sun or moon, not a light bulb and i think it is not the light as i have ran the map with and with out light and it,s still the same but more with the props in some way but i do not know what [banghead]
i am using a env_cubemap which give you internal light casting so the room looks right, but props do not.

How did you create your light?

Indoors you should use a Light entity...

1) Select the Entity Tool (Shift+E) and select Light as an Object in the New Objects group on the right side of the editor.

2) Place the entity under your light fixture and press Enter to insert the light into your map

Make sure the point entity is not in the roof or any other brushwork

As you can see the light in the middle of the room and it is set to Normal, but one think i have done now that not in the screeny is removed the lamp and only got one light now.

Sure.

When you select "Run map" (aka compile) make sure you have "Don't run the game" and "Wait for key press" are ticked. After it is done compiling the resulting window should show the compile log. Then simply copy and paste it.

- This can be caused if you have a 3D skybox in the map, and don't have a light_environment in both the level itself, and the skybox.
- This can also be caused if the color keyvalue is 0 0 0 for the entity it is used in.
- The third cause is if the nearest worldbrush directly beneath the model is either unlit, or using a non-rendered texture such as tools/sky.

Also remember to view the compile log. Often there are clues in there telling you what's going on.
