mate i have been asking this question for days weeks even and stil nothing all i ever get is it wil be out when the game is out which is 2morrow

i have heard on teh special edition with a tin box it has the editor in it and also a guide on mapping

so thats worth waiting

We've continued to enhance Radiant. One of the biggest new features enables us to make buildings on arbitrary angles, whereas in CoD1 or other games you had to build everything on the grid or on 45s or you were just asking for problems. That's contributed emmensely to the organic feel of the geometry.

Another huge improvement is that undo works far better now. Gone are the days of doing undo on a model and having the model turn into a brush. Good riddance!

We've improved terrain painting significantly, as we now have environmental artists with higher artistic expectations. Radiant has followed the game in going "dx9", and now the terrain blend layers draw in the right order (no more hiding/unhiding in a certain order to see your terrain). The sky also draws like the sky in game, which is cool.

I added a new control method which I think is significantly better than the other 2 available. I had been using "throttle" mode for all these years but finally decided to make a good camera mode. Mouse wheel zooms the 3d view and holding right mouse lets you look around. You can hold ctrl to pan, shift to make the view zoom slowly, and alt to make the view zoom fast. It's much easier to look around than in throttle mode and you don't have to keep picking up the mouse to move around like in mouse mode 2.

Ahh.. and many more.

I can still load CoD1 maps just fine in Radiant. The textures have to be reapplied since the CoD1 textures don't exist in CoD2.

We may have a brand new engine, but we maintained Radiant since all our designers know it well.
