As you probably know if you play a level, for example "Shop1" and you fall off the edge with fall damage or not, you die automacticly. I wanted to create an instant death thingy on my map, does anyone know how to do this? If so please could you infrom me how, i am guessing its got something to do with Triggers but i have no idea how to do this.

use a trigger_hurt , and set the key dmg : 9999
then the player will die as soon as they go into the trigger.

also, if it is going to be for a similar falling situation you could also put a brush with tools/_nodrop in the same place as the trigger. this is to stop gametype objects from being stuck down there. example in ctf if you are carrying the flag and fall down, with the nodrop the flag will be returned.

you can not do messages with the trigger_hurt. if you want it to say 'You died' you will need to do it differently

you can instead use a trigger_multiple to do it. next to the trigger put in a target_kill and a target_print, and have the trigger to target them. you put the message you want on the target_print, and set the private checkbox so that only the one who triggered it get the message that they have died.

Thanks mate, but some how i managed to delete my map. I turned it into a trigger hurt and deleted the thing saying world spawn, now i can't view my map because it says i have no world spawn...i think i've lost it completly :( i'll be devastated if i have...

You know if thats possible to fix?
