I am trying to make an arch and when I hit Shift+C all I get is a message that says "Cannot cap multiple selection, Please select a single brush." I have hit esc about 20 times to make sure that nothing is selected. I then select the brush I wish to make the arch out of. I hit Shift+C and I get the same damn message, over, and over, and over. Am I missing something here? because it is getting really annoying. I did a search first but couldn't find any answers.

Just for an example I did what you did and got a similar but more important error message "Cannot cap multiple selection. Please select a single patch." Your answer is there.
