Can't get custom maps to load,in game to start,typed in to console e.g. map mp_citi_apartments then hit enter it crushes, typed in one of the game maps e.g. map mp_vacant it loads ,i was told to put those custom maps in my zone folder,i don't thik that is right,shouldnt they me in the mods folder?

Custom maps go in the 'usermaps' folder. If there isnt a usermaps folder, create one.

Almost all maps come with instructions on where to put them, so there isnt a need to come to a forum and ask.

If in doubt, always consult the manual.

And you must run them from a mod. The folder doesnt have to actually have a mod in it, but you cant load them like you would a stock map.

well iam getting part of the answer,they load but there not showing on the game rooster,with thee others ,iam following the manual, where they want them,to go ,one says to leave the IWD in the users folder ,so i did and no go,i put some others in the mods folder to the custom maps folder,and they ran but don't show in the rooster,and i ran it with some mod,just trying to figure it out.some didn't even have read me.they just think you should know i guess,still confused but i keep trying.been away from this for alitte whlie ,getting back into it again.

well we have them running,but it has its little tricks for some,to go ,not everybody says the same thing to do, the same way ,but it ends up that way ,the only thing is there not showing up in the widow where you pick a map to play don't under stand that one,but they will load with the console,got any answer on that one yell away,iam here to learn all over again.

Having the same issue. I can't get any maps to load when i use the map mp_mapname command in the console. I'm hitting my ~ key, bringing down console, entering command, hitting enter and it repeats what i just typed in lower left hand of screen and does nothing. Yes I'm running it in a mod, have the usermaps and files placed correctly per other forums. Any ideas? Is there some admin console command or something i gotta use first?

Sounds like your not adding the forward slash in front of the command.

ie:

/rcon map mp_nameofmap

then / map mp_ mapsname enter or could be this

/ map mp_joe_blow then hit enter and away she

goes ,it loads,i do what they ask to a point , some are wrong on location , i take the mp_ folder to usermaps folder, then open copy the .ff files to the zone folder,then come back copy the IWD file ,to mods folder to custommaps folder, and it loads fine
