hello again all.

i have a question.....

i know how to set the redirect up but was wondering can you split the redirect into sections?

example:
if i have 3 uo servers running say.
1xsniper
1xclassic
1xmodern

can i not create a folder in the redirect called MAPS and a folder called MODS and place ALL the maps to all servers in the MAPS folder and all the MODS in the MODS folder and just get all 3 servers directed at those folders.

or does uo not work that way?
reason i ask is if i did have 3x servers i have to upload all the maps for classic and modern twice to individual folders.

hense using a lot of space to host the downloads.

i hope i am clear what it is i am asking.

any insight to this at all guys?
please

I'm not entirely clear on what you're trying to do, but each server needs its own maps and mods, there isn't a way around that, unless you get your GSP to run all your servers from the same folder. Which I don't think can happen because they'd end up with the same IP or other conflicts.

The redirect is where the client downloads them, and this redirect can be shared without any issues as far as I know. You can split a redirect up as much as you like, I've seen redirects used for 3 or 4 different games.

The redirect is usually something like:

www.redirect.com/

In the redirect config on your server, the server will look for the directories "mods" and "usermaps" in whatever folder you point it to, i.e. if you create a folder called sniper with a mods and usermaps folder in it and put in your server redirect config: www.redirect.com/sniper the game knows to look for the mods and usermaps folders inside of the sniper folder. So you could setup your redirect like

www.redirect.com/sniper
www.redirect.com/classic
www.redirect.com/modern

and then have usermaps and mods in each of those, and setup each server's redirect to point to its own folder.

But since you're running the same game, there really isn't a point to that. As long as your mods are named differently, having multiple mods in the mods folder is fine. Your post is confusing because you start off asking if you can split the redirect up, but then ask if you can put all maps for all servers in the same folder. I think what you want to do is use the same redirect for all three servers, so if two servers use the same map, you only have to have one copy in your redirect. In this case you want all of your servers to point to the same redirect folder with the same usermaps and mods folder.
