I got the texture created with no errors... Now I am stuck on getting into the game... lol

Need to figure out how to make the _load.ff file.

Evil_Elf...

As for creating the loadscreen itself here is what I did.

1.I went into my map and took a screenshot.

2.I then opened the screenshot in Photoshop and resized it to 1024 x 1024 pixels. Did a little dressing up of the image, and then flattened the image.

3. I then saved the image as a loadscreen_mp_cqcwarehouse.tga @ 24bit into my root/texture_assets folder.

4. I opened Launcher and then opened AssMan.

5. Setup AssMan like this: image here
(I did this without opening the levels.gdt.)

6. I then saved the file as loadscreen_mp_cqcwarehouse to my root/source_data folder to create my mp_cqcwarehouse.gdt file.

7. I then clicked on PC Convert / Current Asset Only.

8. The compile/conversion finished and it created my loadscreen_mp_cqcwarehouse.iwi file.

9. Then I added the line "material,loadscreen_mp_cqcwarehouse" to my zone_source file a.k.a. my mp_cqcwarehouse.csv file.

10. I recompiled my map.

But now I am stuck... I am looking through the tutorial in the Treyarch wiki trying to create my load.ff... But when I try to do the PC Convert I get a dll error and it aborts the conversion process.

So if anyone can toss in a few ideas we (Evil_Elf and myself) would appreciate it.

I have not tried Treyarchs tut for the loadscreen. I have used Tally's workaround several times and it works great.

Evil_Elf

After using Tally's work around I finally got the loadscreen to work.

Follow this tutorial here.

The Run your map part had me confused for a bit but I worked it out. I elaborated on it below to try and help you out.

Step 1: I need to browse to C:\Documents and Settings\Kegaro\Local Settings\Application Data\Activision\CoDWaW\mods\mp_ace and place my maps .IWD file in there, which I have. This .IWD file contains your compass.iwi, loadscreen.iwi, and any custom texture.iwi files you may have.

Step 2. I need to browse to C:\Documents and Settings\Kegaro\Local Settings\Application Data\Activision\CoDWaW\usermaps and create a folder with your maps name. Which I have done.

Step 3. Inside this newly created folder you need to place your mp_mapname.ff, localized_mp_mapname.ff, and your mp_mapname_load.ff

Step 4. Launch map

I did all that and got that last scene shot I posted

the part that I dont get is this part

* Place the files inside the enclosed 'zone_source' folder inside your game's 'zone_source' folder.

The assetlist CSVs go in the 'english' folder. The game needs these although it will be told to ignore them.

The example mp_gap_load.csv goes just inside 'zone_source'. Rename the file itself to the name of your map.

Open the CSV file, and rename the loadscreen to match your map's name.

* Place the contents of the enclosed 'raw' folder in their respective folders in your game's tools 'raw' folder. Obviously, you cant actually use the materials and image files, but use them as a guide to where you place your map's ones.

That is, your maps' loadscreen IWI file and materials go in their respective folders inside the 'raw' folder.
