yes what rasta said i only unplug to be safe
but i have reinstalled 10 or more times now because ever time i try a loadscreen i lose half the sound files aa but this time it installed differnt so with that though you may have it installed differnt than most i have notice that it installed only part where it should be now i have rastas old problem lol not so funny but this thing is what nightmares are made of !!!!
now im going to try to delete everything once again
everything cod 2 cod4 mapper updates everything and reinstall no patch try my loadscreen
not to steal your post only pointing out 60% of the mappers are having this weird problem nobody having the same thing but allways close to bad the testers where making there mods instead of compiling maps!!
i think you have a funny install going on
install stock game then tools then patch then tool update
just a idea ive mapped alot of differt games and all cod games never hit anything like this before in 4 yrs of mapping ,2 yr consules 2 yrs pc

Well heres the thing, at the start I had mod tools working fine for about 2 days (this is before I reformated my computer). Was creating a map from no experiance in radiant. The closest thing to experiance in the past to something like radiant would be WorldCraft for the quake enigne. I belive it was called "havoc" and the WorldCraft for the HL2 engine aswell. Well long story short, left for the Army came back and now I have this urge to create again. Now back to the start, after the first 2 days with radiant for COD4 I started to get load problems from my saved maps. Then all of a sudden I could no longer place lights in my game. *** THIS ISNT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MY LAP TOP *** Now after the complete reinstall of my windows I had replaced Modtools back on. Well... the problems are still there, every time I place a light it crashes radiant. *AND I am using it now on my work PC and it crashes when I try to load a map. But lets put that aside. My main concern is my laptop

I have this feeling I may have named my topic headline alittle baddly so I may repost a new topic in this field. Unless my problem is just mine alone and no one else has the same faults in their equipment.

Oh and since I reformated I lost my orignal map I was working on which wasnt much at the time. And plus it wont matter any ways if I can load them. SOOO I have to start from scratch again which is fine if it would work. Thanks for the help every one but so far no results.

Na I dont feel your stealing the topic, from what I see there are alot of problems with radiant and they might all result from a poor install. Never thought about manualy placing each file so I will try to do that later.

im taking a break have many maps and all have working minimaps and compass but ill need to reinstall again to fix the sounds again this trime ill just try it by installing hame then mod tools then maybe patch it but i need to get players in my server agaiin been empty because ive spent to much time on this loadscreen problem 45 days havent mapped sence wanted to enter my map in the contest but i dont like things half way done so ill drop out ill keep checking hope the new install helps "game ,then tools ,then ,patch
