hi there, i use solidworks at work all the time (similar to autocad) and was wondering if there could be be some way to import solidworks files (or a file type that solidworks could export as) to the map maker for cod 4. this would be nice, as i could make a make it in a fraction of the time, then texture/place objects/spawn points in radiance.

i understand how u feel. i too use solidworks at work all day.

but i doubt it. the way solidworks writes the design and the way radiant does it are two different things.

what would be cool is if you could make MODELS this way. But i doubt that would work either.

can you export the mesh out of solid works as an .obj?

Maya has a plugin to import obj's, but I believe its turned off by default, so check in preferences to turn it on, then you should be able to import the obj... if you set up the export correctly it should keep your smoothing (or normal) and UVs also.
