I have been a long time 3ds Max user, but I just finally bought Maya. I figured it was about time to know both anyway. I just have a few simple questions.

1. When I imported my file from Max, it was gigantic. I try to zoom out but it will only let me zoom out so far. What can I do about this? In Max, I have my units set up in inches 1/1. That way, the building that I'm making will be correct size for the game engine.

2. How do I setup my measurements in Maya?

3. How can I "Lock-On" to a polygon or a vertex so I can easily tumble the camera around that area?

4. And finally, I am getting tunnel vision with my file. How can I fix this?

Thanks.

You should make sure your unit settings in maya match those in max... make sure you set your system units in max... display doesnt really matter. Check your export & import settings in both programs settings for possible problems there too. (are you using obj?)

Maya defaults to Y up instead of Z up which is max's default, so make sure you change that too.

As for what the units should be, im not sure exactly cos I just started using radiant recently and have brought anything custom in yet, but I did read the their grid units = 1 inch, so hopefully that helps

to lock on to an object in maya you "frame" it, pretty sure "F" is default hotkey

what do you meen by tunnel vision? My best guess is something to do with your camera settings in maya, but those should be fine by default [confused] need more info to help here
