Just got back on the PC after about 36hrs of no power.  Stupid transformer blew, and it took stupid ComEd forever to fix it! (actually have no idea how long it would take to fix a transformer... probably a while.  Heh)

Anyway, it was a terrible ordeal.  The only way I survived was by surrounding myself w/ all the battery operated gizmos I could find.  I was laying in a dark room listening to my MP3 player while I took digital pictures of what I was writing on the wall w/ a laser pointer.  Yeah.  I ended the day curled in the fetal position weeping.

Long story short, I'm back.

Weird.  I hadn't heard anything about a significant outage.

Meh.  The power went out in my area wednsday.  Lasted about 3 hours.
I had my candles and manga.  I was good.

It wasn't.  Seems like maybe 2 streets.  Like I said, it was a blown transformer (I'm thinking a pole-mounted one).  Not a widespread outage.

I did have a candle (stuffed into a water bottle) and a short story scifi collection to read.  Heh.

We eventually remembered the emergency portable TV we had, and I managed to catch The Simpsons and Leno.

Used 30ft of audio cable as an external ant. too.

Reminds me of riding out the hurricanes here in FL. Once the storm was gone I would watch movies in the car...with the sweet AC blowing on me. Good times.
