Pre-loading for HL2: Episode One has started.  :cool:

Ya think there will be more episodes released this year?  Something tells me Valve will be releasing another episode within the next year.

Now, there's something I've wondered and can't find a straight answer...

Do you need HL2 to play this?  I would assume yes, but I remember reading long ago that it was a pure standalone.

I don't have Hl2 on my Steam account, so I don't want to end up preloading something I won't be able to play...

No, you do not need Half-Life 2. Half-Life 2: Episode One is a standalone game. The price is 19.99 or 17.99 if you order it before a certain date.

Its really not that bad when you consider the fact that with a $50 game you get 12-16hrs of gameplay.
