*Edit* I know someone will say this, so let me clarify: I know EXACTLY how the current filter option works. It does NOT allow you to do something like this: Pings 150 or >: off Dedicated only: on Punk-Buster Enabled only: on Gametype only: CTF Non-Passworded only: on etc.
Now back to the original post...
You guys "fixed" the server browser locking up, but where's the OFF switch for empty servers? Where's some type of UP filtering (BY A SPECIFIC #)? Where's the option to view only CERTAIN types of gametypes?
We don't need four super-over-sized buttons that say "Get New List", etc. Use that wasted space for some MUCH-needed options. We need some ####ing toggleable switches that allow us to turn off the viewing of empty servers, high pinging servers (normally foreign or dial-up, which I DON'T want to play on), allow gametype specific searching, only view PB-enabled servers, only view dedicated servers, and only view non-passworded servers.
I mean seriously. Are you guys even gamers, or do you just double-click the icon on the desktop and join the first server you see. This is 2005, not 1990. Quake3 and Tribes2 had better ####ing server-browsing options than this. And yes, I know how the current "filter" works, but it's limited to the fact that it DOESN'T remember your settings, it shows empty and high-pinging servers, and I don't like ALL the gametypes showing.
Im current attending a game-developing school, but I could've pulled a better server-browser out of my ass, then this crap you've given us. I tell ya what... for Quake5, let me take care of the browser; I'll even do it for free just so the rest of us can have decent options next time around.
p.s. The new Tourney mode is great, especially with simultaneous duels. However, waiting if you lose the first match for 10+ minutes, is idiotic. You would've THOUGHT that maybe you'd allow the "eliminated" to duel each other, so they don't have to sit there and twiddle their fingers for the next 10 minutes. |
