Anyone who has played Doom knows how much the right music can contribute to SP. Doom 3 music is of course far superior to the midi based music of Doom; however, anyone who has played Doom1 (and 2 as well) more than just casually can hum most all of the map level songs. From haunting to driving, the music became "one" with the game. (Something by the way that the original Star Trek tv show was able to do that was never adequately repeated in the later ST shows.)
Game developers for years have known the importance of the proper music to companion to the story and effects.
So what the #### happened to Quake 4??????

You are kidding right? ... So many more important things are wrong with this game than just music.

I do agree with you though. I'm just going to turn up my radio.

May I ask, people, you are all saying, DooM, Quake. Did Raven made those games and write that music?

I do agree with you though. I'm just going to turn up my radio.

I and many others have covered the junky netcode (huge ping spikes and a drop in fps to 2 or 3 just because of server polling in the browser), the inability to "turn off the lights" on some maps in MP in order to get usable fps on mid-grade systems, lack of weapons display (so you know what you have), lack of bots, and intermittant crashes, to name just SOME of the multiplayer problems.
Alot of people have attributed that to "rushing" the MP portion of the game to  market.

I submit that the lack of proper music, and the ease in which the final "bosses" are beaten (finish the coding fast guys so we can get this game to the retail in time for Christmas buying), among other things, are indicative of the ENTIRE game being completed in haste. This game feels more like a beta than a final release.

Actually, if you look at it with a row eye, it is a completely regular game... For fans of Quake - this may not be enough. But you can't expect each game be better. Sometimes the game is a recovery period. Sometimes it is just a frustrating period. Who knows why it was done the way it was...

Yes you have a point each game is made to amke money not to amke fans happy the game is good enough for them not to be luaghed out of the industy for but still it stings to think they dont care aobut the older games there are not even careing about gamepaly anymore they focus on poping a game out and movieng on to the next then make a aptch or 2 when it suits them.....its a sad state of affairs only to get worse as time goes on....

It's not this game that worries me. But that what will come next. There are no perfections like heXen, Thief, Turok anymore. Just one-day games.
