The most infamous terrorist organisation in Ireland has ended it's war. Their putting an end to acts of violence and disarming their units. This is a great day for Northern Ireland and for the Republic and the UK and it gives hope that even the most fanatical groups can see sense in the end Link

I dunno if you can really compare them to other terrorist groups, but any progress is progress. Good news if they live up to it.

It seems like we were at this point before. The way I see it, this may be just a break in the clouds, it can ether get sunny or rain like ####. Lets hope it goes well, and not develop rain clouds again.

Well that's good news. But there's always going to be the extremists there who aren't going to change. Just because the top dogs of the IRA may disarm, there'll probably still be those who continue.
