One thing to also keep in mind, if Windows Vista would ever try to start sending personal data to Microsoft (yada yada), the DOJ and now the EU would have a field day.

One thing I can say for certain is that the DOJ has been closely monitoring the development of Vista to ensure Microsoft stays within all laws (both the regular laws and antitrust laws), so if this feature was in there I'm sure the Fed would have caused a ruckus already.

Oh, and some of you may find this interesting, another company in Redmond, Vista Inc or something like that is thinking of suing Microsoft over the Windows Vista name.

My opinion-
If TigerDirect.com couldnt get the courts to stop Mac OSX Tiger from being released, this company wont get very far versus MS.

They did think it through, the problem is they didnt know that some company called 'Vista' might think about sueing them. I'm sure that back when XP was named some company called XP Inc thought about it. The problem is everyone is seeing all these lawsuits against MS lately where MS is losing and thinking 'maybe I should jump on the bandwagon'.

We'll see how this plays out, no word on if a lawsuit was filed or not, but it'd probaly cost MS more to change the name then to just give the other company money and make them happy.
