I think Ubi is getting ready for the next gen.  Over the next few years games are going to pack crazy detail...gonna cost more and take more devs to develope next gen games.

Not sure... What I think is, it will need more knowledge from the dev, and will need them to not shrink the resolution of their texture before the game is ship.

if they don't compress the textures, how will these games run on Xbox? :;):


(remember during development, everyone was worried about whether their hardware would play DOOM3.
in the end they just used texture compression to make the game run on 5 year old hardware. no worries)  :p

Not necessarily true.  I'm in the industry, albeit as an indie developer, and let's just say that my first game (4 months of work) made me enough money to conceivably live off of for a year.  It IS possible to make money in the industry, it just takes a lot of hard work and dedication.
