That's exactly what they're suposed to do, whenever they get threats. Granted, doing via the drive though is a bit odd, but the rules would still apply.

And yeah, every bank I've seen has a drive through, at least with an ATM machine.

Woah. A new level in laziness. And people wonder why obesity is becoming an epidemic...

The robber could have just as easily sent a teargas canister or a bomb through the vacuum tube

Still, better to be safe than sorry.

Also, a drive-through bank? Thats just weird.
Are people so lazy they can't get out of there cars for 30 secs to pick up some money or make a deposit?

This is an American bank... with money and walls and stuff... Not those holes you Canucks bury your money and pelts in...  Those aren't banks.  Those are just holes.

There's  a reason their dollars are called 'loonies'.

You know, it could have been an inside job too.  Easy getaway, few witnesses to the actual conversation, ect..

Well, for one, the drive-throughs work even after the bank is closed (and that's normally obscenely early, hence the phrase
"banker's hours"). Not to mention if you have a bunch of kids or something. How would you like to have to get out a stroller and get a kid of a car seat and into the stroller,  just to go in a bank for five minutes to get some cash?

Yeah.  What's with us Americans and our lazy inventions... Drive through banks?!?  No wonder we're all overweight, what with our running water, electricity and chairs with little tiny wheels on them...

Next thing you know, they'll have these things that can work like a libary, only they sit on a desk.

I'm all for drive through banks. Without the drive through, lines inside the bank would be all the longer. Gosh, if drive throughs are so bad, let's get rid of the ATM while we're at it, because it's easier than going directly to the teller. In fact kill the ATM/credit/debit card while you're at it too, because swiping a card, or buying over the internet invokes laziness. From now on, everything can only be bought with bonifide gold nuggets. Sheesh, welcome to the dark ages...
