We need a 1.02 patch to fix an exploit people have only in the recent weeks really started using on the public servers, which oddly enough is a problem that *was* fixed in JK2. I'm not talking about bugs like the Siege bugs, but a duelling bug...

Spin whores.

If a user sets his sensitivity to high (often using the /sens command in the console to get it higher than allowed in the options) or binds a key to momentarily get it high, he can turn really fast.

So what's the problem? People can turn fast right? That's what the option is there for?

That's right, but here's the deal. If a user has his saber extended and when in close proximity of his/her enemy makes a rapid swing, the saber will pass through the opponent a LOT of times... easy insta kills! This is especially true for people using red stance. It was fixed back in JK2 where moving your saber that fast using a sense exploit didn't have the massive damage it had here... so it wasn't worth doing in JK2. More and more people are using this exploit now, and it needs to be fixed. The creators didn't intend for people to fight like that, I'm sure (red is slow because it's strong) but we desperately need a 1.02 patch to fix this... a lot of people are starting to complain.

I totally love the saber system in JK3, but this exploit is now bothering me on a lot of public servers.

lol this is not a bug, spinning is much more harder than u think, u say this because u dcant do it properly.
Spinning is not just putting sensitivity at maximum, spinning needs skill, i spin sometimes and my sensitivity is only at 25%

I was doing this spinning thing in the first week or two of  the game's release. The reason why I started doing it was because after playing it for a week I decided it was not possible to link moves or combo's as in JK2, I thought the special moves to be too static and left me very vulnerable. After a week of trying to perform new (linked or different/novel application) tricks and stunts without avail, I felt spinning my mouse 360 degrees with each swing so I hit twice was the only new technique readily available to me - something that I had thought about only very briefly whilst playing JK2, but realistically never had the time to even try to start implementing as there was always too much else to address during fighting.

As it goes, when I did start performing the double-hit 360's in JA, my clanmate decided after one round that it was not in good sport, and would not fight me if I used it. He was not of little skill either, so I guess this is just down to personal preference. I do think, however, that is is too easy for people who cannot or do not try to apply skill to certain techniques to decide lack of balance, (becasue they can't perform or defend against it) and if the technique is a rather difficult or useful one this is compounded by that group declaring it unbalanced, and complaining it out of existence.

I personally think that spinning 360, 720, etc. gaining two or three strikes on a normal (direction+attack) swing, whilst maintaining any level of control and keeping your spatial awareness is quite a feat, and there is no way this is either a bug or can be fixed - people always need to set their sensitivity as high as they like for different PC systems. Spinning was a complaint with JK2 backstabs too, with people binding a button to increase yawspeed massively whilst backstabbing. These players were not successful amongst my dueling friends however due to the lack of control inherent in the method, although I know many used a quick snap of the wrist to some extent.

I think there are different types of people playing these games; some who just want to play and actually get to frag players letting the game make them feel powerful, and others who want to apply varying levels of skill in any technique to create an extra level of depth in the game, and I think it's an extremely difficult job to create an arena that is universally compatible, whilst leaving little room for exploiters.

LOL!!

I think anyone from a good playing TDM games clan could say that spinning is not a problem.
We are 1st of clanbase ladder 5vs5 in europe with my clan i we play most of time Friendly Fire activated, it solves the problem oh the spin immediatly : u spin u do TK!!

Dont patch the game, play TDM in friendlyfire instead. Second piece of advice in case u want to duel: learn to jumpsmash !!
Spinners get totally owned by a jumpsmash in the head ^^

Hey
I am an BWN admin (the best duel mod IS bwn)
And i have noticed some players were named f**k my isp..
I tried it out and i found out that if you have 2stars in your name (white stars) You can "server speak", This "bug" (i don't kno if its a bug) is really annoying Because it make spammers spam even worse (an admin can't wastch his server all the time :()

how are they to do that ? the game does not even have a cd key. :s6:

also i have some suggestions:

- fix map exploits and elevators (especially ctf1) cause ive seen spots where ppl can get in the wall and stay in the wall (not the lower part of circle)

- add color for jawa and add him to menu :)

- add some more models

- maybe stop the usage of normal ppl using debugthrow and debugknockmedown and the rest of the debug cmds (maybe make them require cheats) cause i play on chop shop increased saber damage and do it yet i dont want to give it away to too many ppl cause then too many ppl will be using it :P

some SP bugs ;

- In the Rancor level (prisoner's rescue level), Level 3 Mindtrick does NOT work on the Rancor. Though, if u use Lvl 3 Mindtrick on the rancor the effect on the rancor should be that of Lvl 2 Mindtrick.

- In the level with Wedge Antilles. Inside the tower with transparent floorparts. In one of these transparent floorparts, a Thermaldetonator belt is STUCK. Even with force pull I didnt get it of the floor, so i guess its stuck in the floorpart.

Bug or preference ;
- Some official saber hilts are held to high in both hands, when using 1 singlebladed saber. The left hand barely touches the bottom of the hilt, instead of fully grasping/holding the saberhilt. Looks silly/stupid.
U dont have this "problem" say with Kyle's saberhilt because its longer.

A game manual bug, or big annoyance ;
- I coudnt find anywhere in my manual HOW to use vehicles or the rocketpack (in MP).
Becos of this i was stuck for awhile in the SP level with the swoops. Cos i didnt knew how to jump that chasm with the swoop.

there is one thing that realy needs to be done and thats a ANTI Poke option
so ppl can't use a SPEEDING! saber to kill evryone
if this woud be done then many ppl woud play the game again
and even i woud play it more ???

My game crashes if I click on the mouse in the data pad or when I'm selecting a weapon or force power in between missions.

Elevators need to work bothways up and down on all mp maps.  The elevators only go up and thats annoying especially when you have to take a 20 point dmg for a drop when you are dueling or fighting someone, it gets annoying.  The Vjun map has that problem along with some of the CTF maps.  Also we need bigger and better maps, especialy for seige.  Seige Destroyer map lags the server and in reality is borning.  Also there is a bug allowing defenders on hoth or anyone for that matter to destroyer the hanger codes which ruins the game.

We need more seige maps, more characters to choose in SP, and larger FFA maps they'er too small.
