Hello MOD community,

I'm a games developer that has been working with a motion capture suit + HMDs. We have a website here of one of our very basic games: www.mocapgames.com

However, we are looking to put together a demo of a current generation FPS being used by our mocapsuit. I'm not familiar with what is and isn't possible right now with modding. The hope is we can take a modern FPS and take control of the camera and aiming mechanics. The camera would be independent from aiming and aiming would be driven by motion controls. You would receive from the mocap controller very accurate rotational information generated from the upper arm, forearm and wrist. A intuitive and playable solution is required.

Is this possible and with what titles is this possible? If it is possible and you think you could implement such a system please could you reply to this thread or send me a PM. This will be paid work

Many thanks, Jake

I would :
- get a Kinect and set it up on the PC
- Use unity to create a game
- Interface the two as you mentioned

There are Unity 3D options to interface with the MS Kinect for motion.

We already have our own motion controller. Its an inertial based mocap suit. We manufacture the suit and have an SDK. My employer requires this to work with an existing title, preferably a modern shooter.

I have seen mods of Half-Life with the Razor Hydra. We would need a similar implementation.

In that case you will need to take a modern shooter that can be modded and implement your SDK to replace the existing controls.

Current games:
- Crysis
- Farcry

Older games:
- Half Life 2
- Left 4 Dead
- TF2
- Call of Duty
- Quake
- Doom

The above is just a short list.

I think I would choose the latest Crysis game to work with because it's the most visually impressive. However, it's not technically the original game that you will be modifying.

Choose an older game to modify the original game in some manner. Source games (the first two) will offer you the most flexibility which is probably what you are after.

TF2 was one of the first to implement the Occulus Rift SDK. ;)

I would require the game to be playable (as in AI, levels) etc all intact. Would I get this with Crysis? Otherwise it seems Half-Life 2 would be the best bet?

Anyone have the required ability or would like to work with me to mod Half-Life 2 to work with our motion controller. This will be paid work.
