okay. i've seen posts of this before and noone gets a anser is it posible to get a pre-made map and turn it into a .map file for further editing?? or does anyone have the .map file for fort BHC in cod2?? xfire: sgtandrewbuck plz contact me if you know and plz dont start a big war about this topic like all other times

The short answer is that no there is no real way to turn an existing map back into a .map file. Probably the best way is to try and find the author of the map and discuss this with him. He may release the source to you but as always the choice would be his.

There is no way to get stock map source files, it may be possible to get hold a custom map source file by asking the author but don't count on it. If you lost a map of yours you can search for mapname.bak and rename the extension to .map.
