How to create doors and windows using the Clipper tool
Versions: You must be logged in to view history.
In this tutorial I will show you the basics of the clipper tool, you can use the tool to create windows and doors but also to create things like destroyed walls, just mess around with it a little bit. Thanks Jeannot.
Step 1: Draw out a brush that will represent our wall, I made this wall a 128 units in height.

Step 2: With your wall selected, press "X" on your keyboard and click on the position you wan't to "cut" your wall, let me help you with this screenshot (when you have clicked a blue dot will apear):

Step 3: Click again on another position on your wall to cut it, note that I put the second blue dot right above the first to get a straight cut. Don't worry when suddenly half of your wall dissapears, simply read step 4.

Step 4: Your wall has vanished? No. Simply press SHIFT + ENTER to finish the cut, the wall that vanished before is now back and has been cut.

Step 5: We still need to cut the other side of the wall to make an opening big enough for a player to walk through. Cut another piece out of the wall as shown on the screenshot, don't forget to press SHIFT + ENTER :

Step 6: Now deselect every brush by pressing "ESC" on your keyboard, then select the piece that you cut out of the wall, you can select a brush by SHIFT + LEFT MOUSE BUTTON . Drag this brush upwards like shown on the picture, you will now notice the shape of a doorway.

Step 7: Now that you know how to cut pieces out of the wall, lets cut 2 more that will represent our windows.

Step 8: When you have done this, select the 2 pieces and delete them by pressing "Backspace" on your keyboard.

Step 9: Give it a nice texture and this is what it should look like:

I recommend creating ledges for the windows and doors though as they look ugly without them.
