Hi all,

This is my first post on this forum, so please let me know
if theres a better place to discuss this.
First, I would like to know what 3D engine is best suited to combine ship to ship combat (like Freespace) and a FPS (such as Half Life 2 or Unreal) in the same playfield?
Second, where would I go discuss the feasibility this with skilled freelance programmers. Possibly to hire.

Thanks.

freelance modders for hire are out there, they are just hard to find. That's because so many people would rather work on their own projects rather than someone elses... even if there is money involved. Just post here and in other modding forums.

As for the best engine. hmmm. I can't think of any engine that is best suited for this idea. I actually think there is one mod out there like this that is being developed. I just can't think of what it's called.

Try searching moddb.com for "space shooter" I guess. I found these:

- Eternal Silence
http://www.moddb.com/mods/1939/eternal-silence/downloads/2208/eternal-silence-space-test-video

- Aurora
http://www.moddb.com/mods/10443/aurora-maximum-space

neither is what I was after. but they use traditional fps engines.
