Hey ive been working on a map and im not to good at it, but i made one none the less.

Someone will have to help me in how t get perfect outside lighting with nice ambient instead of going black, and make the sun not to bright but my main problem is my textures.

My road and my grass dont even load and there not even solid! when i spawn i fall straight through, ive tried using a different texture but it did the same thing.

1> the textures you used are blend textures, if they have a gray line around them in the list its blend, you only use them for alpha blending
if you go down in the list from were you got the textures there are the non-blend versions of the texture

2> Dont use caulk for player clipping by the iron cross things use player_clip from the common textures

heres some good bright lighting

i only used caulk because when i used player_clip and then deselected it, it totally dissapeared.

Is there any reason why half of my church roof is missing? its the same texture as the parts that are showing.

make sure that in your filters the clip box is ticked (F)

looks like a bad brush (intersecting other brushes at angles isnt good) you might have to re-do the roof

don't know if this exactly the same problem i had but its worth a try maybe...

the hedgehogs in the streets and the tombstones/crypts in the cemetery are blacked out... I have had similar problems in the past and when I raised their xmodel origin 1 unit above the ground, they weren't blacked out anymore...

Might just be a coincindence though... and it has more to do with the ambient lighting and the alpha blend textures youre using for the ground...

the problem was all the ambient etc... thanks alot kill3r! [tongue]
Also alot of my road was colliding with other things so i......CSG subtracted it [eek] and its all good except for my church roof which is now a steeple and all is good.
