Oh Spike, say it ain’t so: I know you just wanted to help a newbie (which’s noble), but aren’t spam scripts spreading like VD in the community, as it is?

I don’t mind productive chat, i.e. “Have case. Headed through kitchen”, “three hostiles headed N to flag”, et cetera. I don’t even care if some little chump(s) can’t play without talking smack in DM, most days (because if you have to try to distract me to win, you're complimenting my skills). Some days I'll even stop to answer newbies' questions (though the polite thing to do is to ask them in forums like these).

That said, I greatly resent, i.e., the kiddies/m0s with chatter scripts spamming “X health X armor Location: X” in team games on pubs. It may be a barrel of monkeys for you, but trust me: It doesn’t do a #### thing to help your team. It only selfishly and needlessly distracts them, possibly for those precious seconds they need to stay alive in order to provide you timely cover, et cetera.

There are also toddlers who get on and do nothing but broadcast “HEY BILLY LOOK AT MY SCORE HEY BILLY LOOK AT MY SCORE HEY BILLY LOOK AT MY SCORE HEY BILLY…”, Appalachian wise men (racists, homophobes, Nazis, et cetera), and other rocket scientists.

For games in which I must endure tards, the selfish, the ignorant, and the childish, I reserve this:

bind DOWNARROW "vstr spaminatortoggle"

seta spaminatoron "seta cg_chatTime 0; set spaminatortoggle vstr spaminatoroff; say Turning off text messaging (probably because someone's being an ass). This is a preconfigured message.; echo ^4Sayonara^4, ^4Spam!"
seta spaminatoroff "seta cg_chatTime 8000; set spaminatortoggle vstr spaminatoron; say Mute's off. I can hear again.; echo ^4Chat ^4text ^4resumed^4."

I make no pretense of it being elegant or attractive, but it does what it’s supposed to. The only drawback is that it still lets you hear the click every time there’s a new message, but I’ve yet to hear from anyone as to how to disable that (temporarily, anyway).

I believe in team work and communication, so if you keep concise, I’ll listen and do my best to reciprocate. If you bury me under a barrage of needless babble (i.e. everytime you reload), you've flagged yourself as expendable. Congratulations and good luck: I’m ignoring you for the rest of the game.

Oh well, thanks anyway.

Slappy,
the command ur looking for is ignore, mute if u run a server, both the the player id shown on the scoreboard.

Roger that. Thanks Spike.

Also, for the record, I have lightened up a little about what I'd labeled spam scripts: The other night I was on a pub during a DEM game, someone used one sparringly (i.e. once per round), and it didn't bother me at all.

I still say spamming every time you reload ain't right, though.

Well I'd like to say thank you for your work on all these scripts, but i still have a problem.

I am not new to PC's at all, but i am new to scripts and games.

Please explain what i do with all this text. I have read that you enter these "scripts" into a file called autoexec.cfg in the \base\mp folder, but i cant seen to get the effects wanted. Do I:

1, enter all the text from each post, or just selected itemps?
2, have a new file per command?
3, does altering my buttons in main menu make a differance? (ie, i have set right mouse button to jump)

All we would like to do is jump higher, like everyone else, and change crosshair to a more visable status.

Sorry, but would you mind explaining what i am to do with the scripts, you'll make me and my son very happy people (not to mention even up the the chances of a kill!)

Thank you...

That really sux Nologic. Hope everything turns out OK for you and your family.

Here is a new script I made. For me it is really useful because I hardly use the knife or pistol and this script lets you skip past those weapons when your using the mouse wheel.

bind MWHEELDOWN "vstr weapn"
bind MWHEELUP "vstr weapp"
set weapn "vstr weap3"
set weapp "vstr weap2"

set weap1 "weaptoggle primary; set weapp vstr weap2; set weapn vstr weap3"
set weap2 "weaptoggle secondary; set weapp vstr weap3; set weapn vstr weap1"
set weap3 "weaptoggle grenade; set weapp vstr weap1; set weapn vstr weap2"

This probably isn't the best place to post but maybe helpful for guys looking for scripts.

http://www.gamingforums.com/showthr....d=61611

Don't post any scipts on www.sof2files.com forum there admin/moderators are morons. I have asked for advice in the past and was scoffed at I've also seen there admins give lots of wrong advice. After reading what was said to Nologic about him helping out with a script I will probabley never look for help there again.

BTW bar none Nologic has the best looking scripts. asif it was ugly.

I made this for a friend because he had a bad ping.

bind o "vstr time0"
bind i "vstr time10"

set time0 "cl_timeNudge 0; echo 0; bind o vstr time1;bind i vstr time10"
set time1 "cl_timeNudge -5; echo -5; bind o vstr time2;bind i vstr time0"
set time2 "cl_timeNudge -10; echo -10; bind o vstr time3;bind i vstr time1"
set time3 "cl_timeNudge -15; echo -15; bind o vstr time4;bind i vstr time2"
set time4 "cl_timeNudge -20; echo -20; bind o vstr time5;bind i vstr time3"
set time5 "cl_timeNudge -25; echo -25; bind o vstr time6;bind i vstr time4"
set time6 "cl_timeNudge -30; echo -30; bind o vstr time7;bind i vstr time5"
set time7 "cl_timeNudge -35; echo -35; bind o vstr time8;bind i vstr time6"
set time8 "cl_timeNudge -40; echo -40; bind o vstr time9;bind i vstr time7"
set time9 "cl_timeNudge -45; echo -45; bind o vstr time10;bind i vstr time8"
set time10 "cl_timeNudge -50; echo -50; bind o vstr time0;bind i vstr time9"

It's basically the same as c00ks thirdperson scripts.
