Has anyone else seen the new trailer for UT2004? Sure does look alot like Halo.

I am not saying it's bad. I think it's quite nice looking, but I always go out any buy each version of UT and end up putting in its case a couple weeks later. I am just a quake kinda guy.

I wish it was more enjoyable to mod.... idSoftware needs to starting adding vehicles too.

I actually enjoy working with the UT engine. I've done a whack of things for mapping that you couldn't do with the Q3 engine, for one example the amount of detail and effects that you can have is by far superiour in both mulitplay and single player in UT IMO. (Currently working with Raven Shield)

Granted the engine isn't easy to learn but once you've gotten past the basics everything else sort of fits into place.

If memory serves wasn't the "Original" Halo (Before MC bought it out for the XBox) made with the UT engine?

Cheers
I sometimes wonder... "Why is that frisbee getting larger?" .............and then it hits me.

hmmm.. interesting... you know I think you are right about Halo. Either it started on the UT engine or it was often compared to it.

I didn't just dislike the editor for that game. There were alot of little things that bothered me and caused me to lose interest quickly. I think it's because I became so used to the quake engine and how it looked and worked, that I now have a problem with games that are different from it.

There would be if we could find someone to support it. Right now, most of the members here have more experience with the quake engine so supporting unreal is kinda tough.

Are you up for the job? [wink]

I wouldn't have minded the learning and some help with ut2k4, but i decided not to buy it after the team i was helping run prepare for next cpl had to just split up (mostly due to medical reasons with some ppl), so in the end i was disappointed...i really liked the onslaught mode, however ctf was the best, of course! :)

It's very nice imo, example of little things that newer games should follow (glad to hear hl2 is implementing a voice recognition system)...like tts, i like of liked it (i dont think most used it, as it was in the menus and disabled by default)...lol

oh well, i think the next installment will be the one to look for, as this one and the others combined together should give them a very nice set of material and opinions to work with, to produce a very good experience...it was pretty, though ill say that...and that vehicle (scorpion) with the lawnmower-esque blades just didnt get any more fun, lol..k ill stop
