Ok.. I have 2 questions for my map im making.

1) When I make a fan it rotates and stuff... but it doesnt saty on the Z-axis... So I want a big fan on top of my map.. but when i play in game it drops to the bottom. It still works it just not in the right spot.
How do i fix this?

2) Is there anyway to make a lighthouse effect in COD?.. a saw one for COD:UO but can i make one for COD?

1) You'll have to post what you got in your .gsc file to rotate the fan, you might have entered in the wrong coordinates or something for your move function.

2) Not sure about the lighthouse, you'll have to see if anyone else knows.

Also... (Sorry didnt update in time)

I have fire in my map and when u get a little far away it disapears... but smoke doesn't?... and then the light i put with it shies by itself.. is there anyway i can get rid of that?
and In the Picture below theres a wall in my map with Blue lights above it.. How do i get ride of the "blochy" spots on it?

well.. i didnt know u had to have gsc lol... i didnt read that in any of the tuts.. (and it wasnt in the video tut.)
can u give me a code or link to it? thanks

Btw, instead of posting right after each other, you can just hit the edit button on the left of your post.

I didn't know that the fan didn't need .gsc coding, cause I never tried it. You'll just have to follow the tutorial exactly as it is, sorry.

I have seen this happen before with the fire effect. I'm not sure how you would fix it, or if there is any way to fix it anyways. Sorry.

So im not sure at all if you need a .gsc or not.. so your saying you dont now?
Ok if i dont need a .gsc then i dont know the problem
If you do then i just need the code for it so i can put it in [thumbs_up]

You don't need a .gsc file.. you can use the func_rotate. The video tutorial you followed is the windmill tutorial, right?

Most likely.. you forgot the origin brush, because it sounds like it's rotating around the 0,0,0 point.

well see.. i think it is rotating around 0,0,0. But i did make an orgin brush and i intersected them with the orgin brush. I selected them all and did func>rotating.
Im pretty sure i have the right brush (orig. orig. orig?) and its a orange colored brush? I followed the tutorial but its doesnt stay were i put them

The origin brush is what the whole thing will rotate around. Wyatt does mention it in his windmill tutorial if I'm not mistaken.

So.. you put the origin brush, so the center of the brush is located on the axis you want your fan to rotate around.

As for the fire disappearing.. nothing you can do about that. The easiest way to "cheat" this, is to make sure a brush (wall or something) will block the view to the fire before it disappears. This way the player won't see the fire vanishing.

And you can't make the light disappear, because it's hard coded into the .bsp file.

thats what i did. I started out by making a origin brush and then making my fan blades. I made them all were i wanted them and stuff.. then i do the process and stuff. But i compile it and then the fan works and all but its not in the right place. Ive had this happen before also
