I have a map that I want to make into a xmodel and when I go to selection and port it to maya, it cant read the file

The map I want to make a xmodel has building prefabs and in the buildings that are prefabs, they have xmodels in them.

But maya cant read the file.

Is there any way to make a map a xmodel?

The only way is, as you have done but remember that it can not export models into Maya. (So no prefabs, xmodels, weapons, MP_, etc) So basicly plain brushes and terrain patches can be exported. After you have exported them you still have to use Maya to export them. After that you have to use the Asset Manager. Hope you like the work ;).

By the way, why do you want a complete map being exported?!

Daevius and me just added a new feature to the BSP decompiler, which takes the BSP draw vertices & draw faces and writes them to OBJ model. Does not include model verts and faces!

Not yet released, need to ask Daevius before giving away the new executable. Doesn't support material export as yet (unless he added it in the meanwhile)

Another way would be to use 3d ripper dx and capture to OBJ, but will contain whatever is on screen (only what's in front of you, models as well)
