Counter-Strike: Source Beta Release Date

In other news, Gabe Newell has stated that Counter-Strike: Source will start pre-loading the 300MB monster for those eligible (Cybercafe owners, Condition Zero owners) on August 5. The actual release date for this beta version, will be August 10. Read on for more information.

D3 Benchmarks

1.2 Patch Released

The 1.2 patch for Far Cry has been released and it fixes a whole lot of things. One of the most notable was the quicksave feature added to single player (which in itself had approximately 100 bug fixes). Official DOOM 3 Specs

The official DOOM III specs have been announced.

Todd Hollenshead, id's chief executive, said Doom 3 will require:

• A 1.5-gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 chip or AMD Athlon 1500.
• 384 megabytes of memory.
• Two gigabytes of hard drive space.
• An nVidia GeForce 3 graphics card or better; or an ATI Technologies 8500 or better.

Pariah Map Editor

frappin has posted screenshots and information about the map editor expected to be released with the coming Unreal-engine based game, Pariah.

RTCW2 in the Horizon

Eurogamer.net is posting that idSoftware has Return to Castle Wolfenstein in progress. This came up during an interview with G4/TechTV. CEO Todd Hollenshead wouldn't mention what the next project would be for idSoftware as RTCW2 isn't in the hands of idSoftware. Speculation has it that Splash Damage is working on the game. ...
