StarGate - The Alliance

JoWood has launched a teaser site for the coming game StarGate SG-1 - The Alliance. The site states that this game "is the spectacular interactive game experience that puts players in the action packed universe of the hit Stargate SG-1 television series." I look forward to seeing where they go with this first person shooter.... [ There's more ]

HL2 SDK... Soon.

Probably tired of the non-stop nagging from modders, a response was finally posted about the fate of the Source SDK. VERC Collective has stated that while they are "not going to mention a specific day, but certainly the word "soon" is appropriate here."

There you have it. The SDK for HL2 will be here... soon.

Human Head Studios

Human Head Studios is looking for a Mapper who is familiar with the Doom 3 editor. Perhaps the problem they are having in finding one is that they want a veteran level designer. Don't let that stop you from sending in your resume and portfolio.

Qualified candidates should be experienced in and be able to confidently demonstrate the follo... [ There's more ]

IGDA Asks for Union

I received an interesting letter today from the IGDA (International Game Developers Association) Board of Directors. It talks of the horrible working conditions developers are forced to face in the work place and how we need to work together to put this to an end.

I have heard rumors about horrible working conditions. Developers are told to pull over-nighters and work weeks without a break. All this for pretty low pay because there is always another kid out there who can do the... [ There's more ]

Half-Life 2 is Alive

Dispite reports of not being aboe to get your hands on a working copy of Half-Life 2, I heard that all steam activated accounts will go live overnight (lastnight) which means that you should have a working copy as of now.

The Steam website reports:
Half-Life 2 is available now for purchase and to play. Those who pre-purchased their copy via Steam may access the game by restarting... [ There's more ]

Released This Week, Not Likely

Projected release date, from reliable sources, have set it for November 16 and while this is not news, the fact it may not meet this release date due to publisher Vivendi Universal is. Take that back, the fact it will likely miss another release date is nothing new. This in from a press release earlier,

"If you have purchased a copy of Half-Life 2, we are sorry you are still waiting to play. This is not Valve's choice. Vivendi is insisting that the game has not yet been relea... [ There's more ]

HALO 2 released.. what do you think?

So, HALO 2 is finally out and you should have at least gotten a couple hours of gameplay into it by now. I wanna know what you think of it. To be honest, I don't think it's as good as I was expecting... and perhaps that's what is wrong with the game. My expectations were higher due to the marketing of the game; and good marketing it was.

Let me know what you think in the comments here... and to start it off, I will let you know what I think.
