Rockstar hits back at Thompson

For several years Thompson has slammed the developer's Grand Theft Auto games for their violent and sexual content, and recently he was a vocal critic of the GTA:SA 'Hot Coffee' mod.

Rockstar has just launched a new website for forthcoming PSP game GTA: Liberty City Stories, which features a spoof email from "JT@CitizensUnitedNegatingTechnology".

Valve on the Mod Community

When Lost Coast is made available for download, Valve plans to update Half-Life 2's SDK to include HDR documentation. It will explain how to create maps that contain both LDR and HDR lighting, to accomodate players that do not have video cards capable of HDR.

ESRB makes changes in wake of Hot Coffee

"Coding around scenes, images, or similar elements that might be pertinent to a rating assignment does not render this content irrelevant from a ratings standpoint. If a publisher wishes to 'edit out' pertinent content from a final product, it must remove the content from the disc altogether. If that is not feasible, the pertinent content must be disclosed to the ESRB during the rating process so it can be taken into account in the assignment of a rating."

Xbox 360 Launch Dates Announced

Video Game Industry to Sue

The computer and video game industry will file suit in Michigan asking that the state's new video game law be overturned, the Entertainment Software Association announced today. Similar laws were previously found unconstitutional and thrown out in St. Louis, Indianapolis, and Washington State, costing taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees....
