Parents are supplying restricted or banned computer games to their teenage children, a report released yesterday shows.
Almost two-thirds of the 15- to 17-year-olds surveyed had played games which were either R18 or banned outright.

Majesco Entertainment recently announced that it has signed new licensing agreements for their intellectual property, BloodRayne. Ripple Junction will make a series of branded clothing (no word if BloodRayne's leather corset will be included) and United Cutlery will be making a set of collectable blades designed to look like those worn by BloodRayne in game.

Glud & Marstrand (G&M) recently filed for legal action against Microsoft. The Danish company alleges that Microsoft violated a nondisclosure agreement by revealing their metal game case technology to a rival firm. The Halo 2 special-edition packaging was made using this design.... [ There's more ]

A demo for Total Overdose is now available, offering the chance to go south of the border and check out Deadline Game's upcoming action game. The demo includes an intro movie and a mission titled "Smash the Stash." The decision was apparently made because the game contained “many scenes depicting brutality and particularly promoted violence among youths”. As a result, the game was then deemed a “harmful publication”, which forces retailers to stock it separately from other titles, with sales to anyone under the age of eighteen resulting in an up to ¥300,000 ($2,700) fine....
