Where are all the booth babes?

I wish it weren't so, but this year's E3 is expected to be lacking the luster it once did now that an old rule is to be enforced. A policy for the expo has been that:

Material, including live models, conduct that is sexually explicitand/or sexually provocative, including but not limited to nudity, partial nudity and bathing suit bottoms, are prohibited on the showfloor, all common areas, and at any access points to the show.

This year, the show'... [ There's more ]

SG1 Cancelled Again

Word on the net is that Stargate SG1 has been cancelled again. First we had JoWood step up last year and state the the game was cancelled. Then Perception announced that they are the actual license owners of the game and that it was not cancelled. Then Namco was heard to be on the development of the game. Now we have a rumor that MGM and/or Perception will be making an offici... [ There's more ]

A Game with no Story

Buzzscope has an article by David Rodriquez that discusses the over abundance of cutscenes in games. He is disgusted that the time spent playing a game is nothing more than a means to get from one cutscene to another.

...We’re supposed to bemaking games, and instead we are making ridiculous, half-assed movies.

Movies are linear, passive entertainment. You sit there and watch th... [ There's more ]

Downloads Update

We are almost done uploading all of the downloads to the new server. 12Gb of file data really takes a long time to upload over the internet, so I do appreiciate your patience while we get them there.

Since the uploading is nearly complete, I estimate that they will be come available for download again tonight. Perhaps about 4 more hours and it will be open again for business.

Again, thanks for waiting.

Finally... We are back online

Whew. What a weekend. Here I was looking at the server getting slower and slower. I thought perhaps a bad program was running. So, the best solution in those cases is to restart the server. Lo and behold... the hard drive on the server crashes on boot and we lose everything.

After banging the keys for two days (with my fingers and head) the website is now back up and we only lost 14 hours of data. Not bad.

The downloads are going to take a little longer to get back online so pleas... [ There's more ]
