Microsoft and hackers dismiss danger to Xbox 360 security

Last week, hackers said they had fooled an Xbox 360 into running a copied version of Project Gotham Racing 3 by modifying the DVD drive firmware, which was apparently left relatively unprotected, so that it sidestepped an authentication routine. Video Game Voters Network Sees 10,000 Members In First Week

According to the Entertainment Software Association, sponsor of the Video Game Voters Network special interest group, the VGVN has amassed over 10,000 signees in its first week. Battlefield 2: Euro Force Review

BF2: Euro Force is the first of two upcoming booster packs from EA for the ever-popular Battlefield 2 PC game. Taking a page from Valve's book, EA is selling this booster pack only as a download via their EA downloader system. Is VOIP as good as the original?

Loren Velthamp of Chanhassen, Minnesota, said he grabbed the phone and called 911 when he realized a fire has started in his home. "I called 911 using Vonage broadband and they put us on hold," Velthamp told KSTP-TV in Minneapolis. “Unbelievable… your house is burning down, and you're put on hold by Vonage.”

Hard Disk Drive Organization Announces a New Sector Length Standard

IDEMA, the International Disk Drive, Equipment, and Materials Association, has announced the results of an industry committee assembled to identify a new and longer sector standard for future magnetic hard disk drives (HDDs). Before buying that game, check the AOL game guide

Make sure you are old enough to be playing that game. AOL now has a game guide that you can use to make sure those games are appropriate for you. They've teamed up with Commone Sense Media for this list.

Example: Beware of Prince of Persion: The Two Thrones. You'd be better off playing Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. (based on the list at the bottom of their page)
