Microsoft Writes Off DX10.1 Fears

Microsoft's Sam Glassenberg told Next-Gen in a phone interview, "DX10.1 fully supports DX10 hardware. No hardware support is being removed....It's strictly a superset. It's basically an update to DX10 that extends the hardware functionality slightly."... [ There's more ]

Half-Life 2: Episode Two is the second in a trilogy of new games created by Valve that extends the award-winning and best-selling Half-Life adventure.

Half-Life 2: The Orange Box will be released on October 9, 2007, at $49.99 for the PC version and $59.99 for the X360 and PS3 editions.

Direct X 10 Hardware already dead?

According to a press brief at SIGGRAPH 2007, Microsoft has dropped some disturbing news informaing gamers that the currently available Direct X 10 hardware WILL NOT support the upcoming Direct X 10.1 in Vista’s new SP1, basically declaring all current hardware supporting DX 10 is now obsolete. On a brighter note, Microsoft did state that the updated Direct X add virtually nothing that gamers should care about and adds almost nothing that developers are likely to utilize.

Halo 3: Flamethrower & Firebomb Grenade Revealed

It's one of the most infamous screenshots in Xbox history. An early screen grab showed Master Chief wielding a flamethrower. That awesome weapon never made it into the original Halo or Halo 2, much to the chagrin of fans. Good news Halo faithful, Master Chief will finish the fight packing the ultimate Covenant toasting device. The flamethrower has made its way into Halo 3. You may now call in sick the week of September 25.
