Fix for Assert Failure When Running Developer
Versions: You must be logged in to view history.

sam_fisher3000 will show you how to fix the Assert Failure error when running developer.

After battling for a long time, I got the fix. I actually had this fix but I wasn't sure because I am always overlooking.

For those of you who turn on developer (1) you get an error that says "Assert Failure". When you see what the error is, it says something about vehicles and collmaps. If developer is not on, the map runs smoothly. The bad thing is, the console won't be able to tell you the errors.

Problem: There are some vehicles that you removed from the map, through radiant, but you did not remove these from the script file or the zone file.

Without removing them from the script, you get the Assert Failure error.

Fix: Very simple. (I can't believe I always overlook the vehicles that I removed through Radiant.) Remove all the vehicles stuff that are not in the map. Everything from the script/map.gsc to the zone file. If you leave them behind, they build up as you remove more vehicles.

Vehicle stuff such as,

maps_humvee::main();
precachevehicle("humvee");

maps_humvee.gsc

humvee_door, etc

I guess the game is loading vehicle scripts for those removed vehicles, so the game causes an error because those vehicles don't exist in the map.

All I know is, the error only occurs with vehicles.

This also help get rid of the building fast file Assert Failure error, where it says streamPos, and stuff. I think it's part of it. There can be other things causing the building fast file Assert Failure errors. I don't know what those are, but I would avoid it whenever possible. One thing I know of is if your map is too big.

Hope this can be great help to everyone. This should be in the tutorial section for COD4 SP.
