If you are like me and tired of waiting for the Match and teams to count down, then read this very brief way to set your Map Testing server up.

I got sick of WASTING time waiting to see my changes on my map.  I have probably spent several hours on the countdown for the "Teams To Be Ready", and then the "Match to Begin".  That's 15 seconds for the first and another 5 seconds for the second, by deafult.  At 20 seconds a pop, you only need 3 changes to equal a minute!

That really begins to add up! Surprised

What I am going to show is how to set up your Testing Server, the one that runs in developer mode when you hit "5. Run Selected Map" in Radiant.  With the following, you can do ANYTHING you want, when you Run/Test your changes...

With the COD4 Compile Tools open, make sure your "Enable Developer" and "Enable Cheats" are checked.  Also, as you may or may not know, if you have custom textures, you MUST create an .IWD file with these new textures in it, and have the "Use Custom Command Line Options" checked.  In the white text area below you MUST have, "+set fs_game Mods/customMaps", without the quotes, or your map will error!

In addition, you can set the Game Type, Time Limits, Hardcore, etc, etc through here...  For example, I mentioned above about the wait times...

So to set the "Waiting For Teams To Ready" I add to my current Custom Command Line Options this:

+set fs_game Mods/customMaps +set scr_game_playerwaittime 0

Further, I can set the "Match Start Time", by adding the following:

+set fs_game Mods/customMaps +set scr_game_playerwaittime 0 +set scr_game_matchstarttime 0

If I am making a Search and Destroy map I can add the following:

+set fs_game Mods/customMaps +set scr_game_playerwaittime 0 +set scr_game_matchstarttime 0 +set g_gametype sd

Now when I test my map, I will start in Search and Destroy, and not have to wait for anything.  I can just start running around checking my changes...
