How To Make Custom Glass Textures By Ellard8
You Will Need Paint.net So..
Download paint.net And Install it, You Can Get It From Here
Ok, Now Open-Up Paint.net And Click File -> New, Change The Width And Hight to 512 pixels.
Now Use The Rubber, Shortcut key is "E" and change the Brush width to 500 Then just Erase All Of The White, Like So:
Now Choose any Color, I'm Just Going to use Blue. Now With Paintbrush (Shortcut Key "b") Selected, Colour The whole area Blue, Like So:
Now, In The Bottom Right-Hand Courner, There Should Be Layers Box. Selected The Most Right Button.
Now Move The opacity Slide to 150 And You Should Now Be Able to See A Bit Of The Defult Textures.
Now, Click File -> Save-As And Click The Second Drop Down Bar And Select DirectDrawSurface (.dds) And Then Find Your Call Of Duty 2 Images folder. And Call It Glass.
Now In Settings. In The Drop Down Bar Choose DXT5 (Interpolated Alpha)
Compressor Type As Iterative fit(Slowest/HQ)
Error Metric As Perceptual.
And Tick Both Additional Options.
Now Go Into Your Bin Folder And Open Up AssetManager
Now In AssetManager Click Materials, Then Click New Entry And Call It "glass" And Click OK.
Now Keep materialType "world phong"
sort As
SurfaceType As glass.
usage As Sign.
And In Locales Just Tick decal.
Now, This is The Part Where You Make It Glass.
In Framebuffer operations do blendFunc As Blend.
Select Your glass.dds By Clicking The Three Dots At The End Of Colour Map.
Then Under Color map turn
So Now Your Settings Should Look Like This:
Now Click File -> Save As And Type in glass.
Then Thats Your .gdt File Saved, Keep This For When you Do Other Glass Textures.
And Finally Click PC Convert -> Current Asset Only.
HopeFully, There Should Be No Errors, If There Is Eail Me On Modsonline - Ellard8.
Now Just Open Up Radient Click Texture -> Usage -> Sign. Then Textures -> Locale -> Decal.
Scroll Down And Find Your Texture! Don't Worry It Looks Solid But Put A Texture Below It And It Should Work, Like This
Hope This Tutorial Helped You! If You Have Any Problems, Remember, Just Email me!

If You Use This Tutorial In Any Of Your Maps, Can You Please Give Me Some Credit. Thanks Ellard8
