This tutorial is designed show the reader how to convert
muliplayer-specific weapons into singleplayer weapons. Thanks Pvt.Palumbo
In this example, we'll make the m14 with grenade launcher
usable.

*CAUTION: When running the converter in CoD4 Compile Tools, the converter will sometimes erase the material
"mtl_weapon_m4_m16" To rectify this, there are two options:

(Option 1) BEFORE RUNNING THE CONVERTER - Browse to "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\raw\materials" (or where-ever your raw\materials folder is) and copy this file to a safe location.

(Option 2)
If you saved the .zip file used to install the complie tools,
browse to "cod4mw_modtools_v1.zip\raw\materials\" and copy the mtl_weapon_m4_m16 file.

Step 1. Read the above Caution.

Step 2. Launch the compile tools, and activate the
Applications tab. Launch the Asset Manager.

Step 3. In the name entry, enter "m14_gl_mp" - (without the
quotes) and press the Find Entry button.

Step 4. Press the Copy Entry button and choose a name, for
example, m14_gl_palumbo

Step 5. On the righthand side, beside Target Folder, use the
drop-down list to change it to "1: Single-Player"

Step 6. Under Alt Weapon Name, delete the gl_m14_mp field,
leaving it blank. Feel free to change any of the options, for
some authentism, change the Fire Type to Full Auto and change the Fire field to .1

Step 7. Go to File, Save. Then close the Asset Manager.

Step 8. Read above caution.

Step 9. Run the Converter.

Step 10. Launch the Level Editor and open your testmap.

Step 11. Right-click, weapon/m14/gl/palumbo. After placing,
save and exit Radiant.

Step 12. Under Level Compiling Tab, Compile the BSP,
Reflections and build the Fast File.

Step 13. The Fast File Compile will give an error "ERROR:
Couldn't find material 'mtl_weapon_m4_m16'. Using the file
mentioned in the above caution, paste the missing file in
"C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern
Warfare\raw\materials".

Step 14. Re-run the Fast File converter.

Step 15. Run the test map, then exit.

Step 16. Run the Update Zone File. Copy the
"weapon,sp/m14_gl_palumbo" entry under MissingAssets CSV and add it to your test map csv entry on the right. (i.e. - copy
and paste) Save the csv.

Step 17. Run the Fast File Converter once again.

Step 18. Run the test map again and enjoy.
