ArmorMaster explains how to use the Mantle Textures to create vault points
This is a simple tutorial on how to make the player jump over stuff. You know how on some objects or walls, you get to press spacebar and you character jumps over the wall or object? This is how to do it:
Create an object to jump over or onto (there is a difference, we'll get to that). Here you can see that I've made a simple railing around the opening of a stairway. What allows the player to hop over things are two textures. These textures are called "mantle over" or "mantle on." Here's the difference. Mantle over has the player hop onto the object or wall, then fall down to the ground. Mantle on has the player jumping onto the object or wall, but not automatically falling down. But where do I find these "mantle" textures? They are located here: The "textures/usage/tools" textures are basically like the "textures/common" textures for COD1 radiant. Now put a box of mantle over or mantle on around the railing, wall, or object. For my example, I just copied and pasted the upper railing brushes, made them mantle over textures, and made them longer to cover the whole railing construction. Remember, depending on how you add the mantle textures, the mantle function can be used on an object or wall from any surface of the mantle brush. |
