BioWare's next free addition to Mass Effect 2 now has a release date. BioWare just recently tweeted that the Firewalker pack will be hitting the Cerberus Network on March 23rd. The DLC will add a Hammerhead hovercraft assault vehicle to the sci-fi RPG along with five new missions centering on that vehicle. In addition, BioWare will also release a small paid downloadable DLC on the same day. The Alternate Apperance Pack will let you dress up Thane, Jack and Garrus in some different outfits. You can get the outfits for 160 BioWare Points (about $2)

An updated version of SimCity is coming to the iPhone and iPod Touch from Electronic Arts, which released five new screenshots on its Facebook page today. Will this be a mobile version of SimCity 3000?

Microsoft's avatar-based, virtual arcade, Game Room, will be launched on March 24th for the Xbox 360 and PC. In it, gamers can purchase reproduced arcade and retro console games to play and share).

The PC version of Lead & Gold: Gangs of the Wild West will be released on April 8th on Steam. Pre-orders are now open giving purchasers a 10% discount off of the title's already low $14.99 price-tag.

In addition, pre-order customers will get beta access to the game, which will run right up to the retail release.

Though the game will be released across all platforms, Price of Persia: The Forgotten Sands on the Wii will have "exclusive story-line, exclusive environments, exclusive mechanics" and is "made from the ground-up for the Nintendo Wii."

Steam News has word that an updated version of the Just Cause 2 demo is available (as of yesterday). The new demo for Avalanche Studios' sandbox action game adds a benchmark along with some bug fixes (thanks StaQuix). The complete change list follows.

Changes in the demo patch include:

• Added benchmark (available from the main menu)
• Localization fixes.
• New MSAA options added.
• Problem with CUDA water while using SLI configurations fixed.
• SSAO intensity tweaked.
• Bokeh option not shown when it isn't supported.
• Helicopter controls functional when re-entering a spinning helicopter in mid-air.
• Improved default video card selection in multi-GPU systems.

Added comandline options:

• Improved default video card selection in multi-GPU systems (override with command line option /dxadapter=)
• Framerate cap command line option (/frameratecap=, default: disabled)
• SwapChain buffer count command line option (/dxbuffers=, default: 1)
• FOV factor command line option (/fovfactor=, typical values 1.0 - 2.0)

A German-language playable demo is now available for King's Bounty: Armored Princess, offering a sample of the sequel to King's Bounty: The Legend. No need to break out the phrase book if your English is stronger than your German, as an English-language demo for the fantasy-themed adventure sequel  was released last year. The German demo is available from Gamer's Hell.

Ubisoft, Microsoft. and GameStop announce the official Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction debut on April 1, 2010 at the Les Deux Nightclub in Hollywood, CA, with ten other first-to-plays scheduled in GameStop locations across the U.S. Word is the events will feature Xbox 360 co-op gaming sessions for Splinter Cell fans and celebrities, and they say "these events are the perfect time and place for Splinter Cell fans to get their Sam Fisher fix before the game hits store shelves on April 13, 2010." Various competitions are scheduled to give away Xbox LIVE Gold memberships, copies of Splinter Cell Conviction, and Splinter Cell Conviction beanies. The announcement is accompanied by the new trailer embedded below showing off the GameStop Xbox 360 preorder bonus of the SPAS-12 Suppressed Shotgun.

A playable demo is now available for Future Wars is now available, offering a sample of this turn-based strategy game from Radon Labs. Word is the demo contains five missions in the game, and both English and German languages are supported. The demo is available from Headup Games and mirrored on 4players.de, AtomicGamer, ComputerGames.ro, and Gamer's Hell.

Ubisoft today released a playable demo of The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom, the next iteration in the popular strategy game franchise developed by Blue Byte. The 2.6GB multilanguage demo is mirrored on GH. The full game is due to be available on March 23, 2010, for both PC and Mac.

The first chapter of Heavy Rain downloadable content will be released on April 1, Sony has announced via the PlayStation.Blog.

An expanded and updated version of the Heavy Rain demo developer Quantic Dream was showing off in 2008, The Taxidermist revolves around one of journalist Madison Paige's early leads in the Origami Killer case and features several different outcomes.

The arcade revision of the original BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, which was already announced for Japanese consoles, will be getting an official release in the United States.

MAG, the PS3-exclusive online shooter boasting up to 256 players at a time, plans to drop some free gear on its players starting Thursday, March 25. On their blog developer Zipper Interactive announced the "Trooper Gear Pack" which will be the first downloadable add-on for the game.

Announced yesterday, Lord of the Rings: War in the North is an action-RPG set for release in 2011 on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. The game is being developed by Snowblind Studios, which developed Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance.

Paradox Interactive has filed a lawsuit against SouthPeak claiming they are owed upwards of a half-million dollars for games sold as part of a non-exclusive distribution deal, reports Gamasutra, saying SouthPeak's reported "insolvency" is alleged to be at the root of the missed payments. They quote the legal filings: "SouthPeak has failed to comply with its payment obligations even for game units which it previously reported to Paradox, and SouthPeak's executives have informed Paradox's executives that SouthPeak is currently financially unable to satisfy its payment obligations to Paradox under the Agreement." Paradox claims that SouthPeak reacted to  termination of their agreement in February by stating they would seek the return of unsold inventory from retailers, of which Paradox says: "There is no rational business reason for requesting such returns; it is contrary to the provisions in the Agreement for post-termination handling of product." They are seeking an injunction against the return of any goods, claiming they would be "irreparably harmed" by such a move. SouthPeak was also sued late last year by TimeGate Studios over missed royalty payments.

It's a double-whammy of Team Fortress 2 PC news this morning as Valve has updated its shooter with a selection of items made by players, while one fan has put on their modding cap to turn TF2 into a side-scrolling platformer named The Great Class Dash.

Quick as a flash, fans on the official TF2 forum dug around and found new apparel for all classes as well as a new melee weapon usable by both the Soldier and Demoman, a new melee weapon for the Pyro and a delicious new snack for the Heavy.

EVE Online's update named 'Tyrannis' will be released on May 18, a new trailer for CCP's spacefaring MMO reveals, to add new features including planet harvesting.

The update's planetary content will begin paving the way for the eventual release of DUST 514, CCP Shanghai's Unreal Engine 3-powered Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 multiplayer shooter actually set on planets in--and affecting--the EVE Online universe.
