Following this article posted early this year, Garry's Mod will now be available to purchase for $9.95 as of Wednesday 29th November 2006.

Garry Newman, creator of this mod which is known by many players, has said the game is pretty much rebuilt. He says "It has a bunch of new tools to play with (winches, hydraulics and hoverballs), totally new spawn menu and a few new Post Processing effects to play with." He also comments on the great advantage of having it on steam by going on to say "The great thing about Steam is that I can update really regularly, really easily--which is something I plan on doing--so expect more tools/gamemodes/stuff to come."

You will require a source based game to run this mod, however if you do not, it can be bundled with Counter-Strike Source for around $25.
