Crysis Delayed, The Sims 3 & Sim City Announced

In Electronic Arts' Q2 2007 earnings conference call, the company revealed that Crytek's anticipated shooter Crysis has been pushed back to EA's next fiscal year, which begins April 1, 2007. A specific release date was not given. The reasons behind the delay is not revealed. Also from the EA conference call mentioned above is a report on FiringSquad that development has commenced on The Sims 3, though a next installment in the wee people was an obvious sure thing.

The game is expected during EA's fiscal 2009, which begins on April 1, 2008. The conference also confirmed a new Simpsons game that will be released around the same time as the upcoming movie version of the TV series this summer, a revival of EA's Road Rash series of motorcycle racing games, a new game in Maxis' Sim City titles and a new installment of Criterion's Black first person shooter series that will be made for next-gen consoles. EA execs also mentioned a new game in the Sims series that is being made especially for Nintendo's Wii console.
