Site Hack

Posted by foyleman in MODSonline on Mar 26, 2006

Yeah.. someone did some bad stuff to us today and we were able to control it. Because of that, we have placed more restrictions on things that you probably won't even notice, but it sucks that we have to restrict anything.

Since we are a community, I feel you should know what happened. I can sum it all up with one letter I received:

From amr12391:

yes i did.. and for 2 reasons... kashmir threatened tohack me.. so i said i would show him.. i fixed it foru so u didn't lose ur site.. at least im nice enuf todo that.. go ahead and keep me banned.. modsonline..nice community.. maybe u shudn't allow html code incertain fields that show up on homepages...

I am not going to pursue this on my own since there wasn't too much damage. I just hope that something else doesn't come along and force me to restrict things further. I really hate that.

What was the hack? A flash redirect script inserted into various places of text. It lead back to his site, http://www.adam.62m.net/.
