There is word that EA is sending out two important downloads in the near future for Battlefield. The first is a patch to fix some of the issues with the game, particularly for the expansion Special Forces. However the second is supposed to be an updated set of BF2 tools. This is great news if these tools are going to provide the missing pieces to the existing tools... such as model support for more than just Maya 6.

The bad news... the tools will soon go to special mod teams for beta testing, then a few more will get them, then a couple weeks after that, we should see them. So I am expecting the tools to show up in about 6 months.
