Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a self-motivated and skilled IT Network Administrator with a minimum of four years experience specific to IT Support/Administration to work in our Blizzard Online Network Systems department.

Job duties would include network and server troubleshooting, resolving routing issues, and addressing user problems. A person in this position would provide first response technical assistance to our development and customer service teams.

An ideal candidate would be an extremely customer-focused and organized individual. They would also possess a high level of experience related to networking, hardware, and software. They must work well in a self-directed team environment. This position requires non-standard working hours (i.e. extended shifts - 10x4, nights and weekends).

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strongwritten and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate and present complex issues and analyses in an effective manner.
  • Good organization and time management skills
  • Must be highly dependable, with a "Can Do" attitude
  • Must have extensive hardware experience (ability to build, diagnose and repair computers; strong troubleshooting skills)
  • Mustbe familiar with an array of software and operating systems (Linux, Windows, etc.; installing and maintaining all Microsoft OS's)
  • Must have networking experience (Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft network environment)
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of network routing technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, management of NT/AD domains)
  • Must be able (and willing) to lift a minimum of 70lbs.
  • Must be experienced in playing computer games and have a familiarity with game software/hardware
  • Must be local to Orange County, California
  • Must have intermediate knowledge of *nix in a networking environment
  • Must be available on-call for emergencies; must be able to work non-standard hours
Skills that are not mandatory, but preferred

 

  • Knowledge and interest in scripting and programminglanguages (i.e. C++, Java, HTML, Visual Basic, Max Scripting) is also abig plus!
