New Soldier of Fortune is Real, but...

Kenn Hoekstra, formerly of Raven software who developed the first two Soldier of Fortune games, has confirmed that the third is in the making. However... and this is important... it is not being worked on by Raven Software. Activision Value is the publisher of this game. There aren't many more details about it.. but that publisher'... Raven Software Forums No-More

The developers of the Soldier of Fortune series, Quake IV, and many other great titles are shutting down their forums. They just redesigned their website and decided that they didn't want to continue the forums. There is no definite date of closure.. but it's gonna happen. CBernstein of Raven starts the closing thread :

Raven Releases Maps

Raven has just released all of the original map files from the original release of the the game (not any updated materials). The map files are excellent for disecting and learning how to do all those things you see in the official game.

All you SOF 1 mappers... this is a must.
