Bryce 5 Free until Sept 6

Apparently you can download , install and get a key for Bryce 5 that's good until September 6th. With it, you can model and even make some nice terrain maps (bump maps for terrain). Hey it's free.. why not check it out.

Could 3DMax and Maya Merge?

Yesterday, an announcement was made that Autodesk is to acquire Alias. Alias is the developer of 3D graphics technology including Maya. Autodesk is known for 3D Max. Together they make up probably the most used modeling and animation software for gaming.

AOL Issues

I apologize to those using AOL for their email and trying register with us this weekend. Seems AOL has screwed us by putting the server IP in a block list. They put us in with a group of other IPs and so just because we are in the middle of the group... we have to wait for the ban to be lifted. Until then, all the email going out to AOL is rejeted.

You can thank AOL for that. They are the ones who didn't bother to see who has which IP. They just lumped us all in the same basket.

Milkshape 3D 1.7.1 Release

New Milkshape 3D version 1.70 and Call of Duty Import/Export Plugins

A new verion of Milkshape 3D 1.70- a 3D modeling program has been released on December 4 2003. This version allows for a lot of things and the functionality of Milkshape has been greatly improved. Here is a list of the major things that I think will make a difference.

       - support for 32-bit texture with alpha channel.
       - *.rgb, *.dds texture are now supported.
       - texture download is now 6 times faster.

Milkshape 3D 1.6.6 Released on 4/12/03

For those that are interested there is a new version of Milkshape 3D available. Here is a list of the new features and fixes that are included:

Added: autosave option, see Preference dialog, disabled by default.
Changed: MilkShape 3D now exits, when it detects security harming programs, rather than trying to close them.
Included: Text Generator plugin by Craig Musgrave.

Maya in Reach

Alias/Wavefront, developers of MAYA, have decided to slash prices dramitcally. MAYA is a 3D modeling tool similar to 3d Studio max and Lightwave. The company stated that they have sropped prices to compete with 3d studio and this means that we could start seeing them in the gaming world one day soon. A copy of Maya used to go for about $7500 and will sell for $1999 beginning April 4. That is quite a price drop.... [ There's more ]

Gmax 1.1 Released

With the release of Command & Conquer: Renegade, Discreet has also released the newest version of Gmax. The 1.1 version has two new file exporters, fixed bugs, and also supports Renegade now, so no need for a gamepack for it.

You must upgrade because it requires the new version to work with the Tempest(Q3 Arena) game pack also.... [ There's more ]
